What is Pokemon Anil?
Pokemon Anil is a fanmade RPGXP game created by EricLostie, using Pokemon Essentials and RPG Maker XP. Set in the Kanto region, the game brings a modern twist to the classic experience with updated graphics and a fresh storyline. It features expanded gameplay with more Pokemon from newer generations, including up to Gen 9 (over 1000 species to catch). You’ll also explore parts of the Johto region and face off against a second rival, making the adventure even more exciting.
Pokemon Anil offers multiple game modes, including a challenging Hard Mode and post-game content featuring legendary Pokemon and Mega Evolutions. The game also improves on many classic features: TMs are now reusable, HMs have been replaced by key items, and you can choose the region your starter Pokemon comes from. With Gen 5-style graphics, animated battle sprites, and the ability to have Pokemon follow you in the overworld, the game enhances the nostalgic Kanto experience while keeping things fresh.
For those looking for extra challenge, Pokemon Anil includes built-in Nuzlocke modes, a randomizer, Poke-radar, and more. There’s even a fast-forward feature (just hit the Alt key) to make your journey smoother. Whether you’re new to Pokemon Anil or a longtime fan, there’s plenty of fun and challenges to discover!
